Which U.S. Virgin Island should you visit?

Have you decided that you want to visit a U.S. Virgin Island, but aren’t sure which island? I can help you out! My favorite U.S. Virgin Island is St. John, closely followed by St. Croix, with St. Thomas in a distant third. But it totally depends what type of vacation you want to have! It is easy enough to travel between the islands, you could even mix and match! St. Thomas St. Thomas is the most developed in terms of tourism, with multiple cruise ships a day visiting. The island itself is lush and hilly with beautiful beaches. There is snorkeling but it pales in comparison to neighbors St. John…

One Week in St. Croix Itinerary

St. Croix is an underwater lovers paradise. But that’s not all! The beaches are beautiful and the island is large, making for different “vibes” in parts of the islands. There are endless activities and things to do to entertain yourself for much more than a week. In fact, you’ll have a hard time fitting it all in! Throw out the rumors you’ve heard of St. Croix being unsafe or crime ridden – that is furthest from the truth when I visited. What is nice about St. Croix is that it is more authentic and hasn’t been overtaken by tourism like St. Thomas can feel like at times. Only two or…

    Top 5 Beaches on Anguilla

Anguilla boasts 33 beaches to choose from, making it tough to choose which beaches to visit on just one trip. Here are my favorite beaches, rank ordered. 1. Sandy Island Sandy Island is my absolute favorite beach and my favorite part of a trip to Anguilla. If you do one thing while you are in Anguilla, go to Sandy Island. Sandy Island is so unique to Anguilla. You take a quick ferry / boat out from Sandy Ground and arrive at this tiny little island with one restaurant and a bunch of beach chairs. You can see 360 water around you when you stand on the island. The beach has…

    Travel Anguilla Guide

You’ve decided to go to Anguilla, congratulations you’ve made a great decision! Here is some needed information for your trip: How to get to Anguilla You will have to fly into St. Martin and ferry to Anguilla. If you have been to the Virgin Islands, St. Martin is pretty close to them so you’ll have a similar flight time. People coming from the West Coast, that means about 12 hours of travel time with a layover somewhere on the East Coast. The ferry to Anguilla is really simple and easy. It only takes about 20 minutes so please don’t let the fact you can’t fly directly to the island deter…

    Anguilla: the Great Caribbean Escape

Anguilla has been featured as the #1 island in the Caribbean in Travel and Leisure for the past several years. So, what is the draw? Obviously, the island, like any of the Caribbean, is going to have pretty beaches, but there is much more under the surface. Escaping the tourism The saying is that Anguilla is where celebrities go to not be recognized and I can see why. The island is extremely quiet, boasting of 33 beautiful beaches with hardly a sole on them. There is no central town or walking district to go shopping. In fact, I never even found a souvenir shop to get a t -shirt because…

What you Need to Know about Getting Scuba Diving Certified

Has it ever crossed your mind to enter the deep blue ocean and go down 60ft where there is no direct access to air and your surrounded by water? This TERRIFIED me. Okay, okay you have a regulator in your mouth so you can breathe and you have a mask over your face so you can see, but still it is a dangerous sport where drowning is a real possibility. I just love snorkeling and my boyfriend is scuba certified so for years now he has been trying to convince me to get certified. So should you do it? Test out the waters The first thing you can do if…

Why the Cayman Islands Should be Your Next Vacation

When I picture the Caribbean, I picture the Cayman Islands. My first inspiration to visit the Cayman Islands was my parents because they spent a year living on Grand Cayman when they were in their 20’s. They used to show me pictures of their time living in the Cayman’s and I knew I had to visit for myself. I must admit, I always dreamed of living in the Caribbean for a year just like my parents did, but they were able to make it work through both working in Public Accounting which unfortunately I do not. What they told me about the Cayman’s was snorkeling and diving every weekend, fishing,…

One Week in St. John Itinerary

For one week in St. John you should pick a beach or two to do every day from beaches of St. John. On one or two days of the trip I’d pick a day trip or activity to do instead of the beach. A sample itinerary is as follows: Day 1 Get to your Airbnb and spend the day by your pool or a beach that is close to town. Get dinner in town. End your night at Beach Bar and play cornhole in the sand. Drink your night away on Cruzan Rum! Per Jack Sparrow, “Why’s the rum always gone?”. Day 2 Stock up at Dolphin Market for the…

    Beaches of St. John

Without further ado here is a guide of my favorite beaches on St. John: Francis Bay – this is my favorite beach on the island! It’s secluded as it is far from Cruz Bay and more difficult to get to. The water is so calm it just laps at your ankles. The best part about the beach is the snorkeling. You will swim with large sea turtles and stingrays! If you go to the far right side there are huge schools of fish to snorkel with. I even saw and octopus! It is the best of both worlds as far as what you can see snorkeling and the secluded vibe…
