Virgin Islands
Which U.S. Virgin Island should you visit?
Have you decided that you want to visit a U.S. Virgin Island, but aren’t sure which island? I can help you out! My favorite U.S. Virgin Island is St. John, closely followed by St. Croix, with St. Thomas in a distant third. But it totally depends what type of vacation you want to have! It is easy enough to travel between the islands, you could even mix and match! St. Thomas St. Thomas is the most developed in terms of tourism, with multiple cruise ships a day visiting. The island itself is lush and hilly with beautiful beaches. There is snorkeling but it pales in comparison to neighbors St. John…
One Week in St. Croix Itinerary
St. Croix is an underwater lovers paradise. But that’s not all! The beaches are beautiful and the island is large, making for different “vibes” in parts of the islands. There are endless activities and things to do to entertain yourself for much more than a week. In fact, you’ll have a hard time fitting it all in! Throw out the rumors you’ve heard of St. Croix being unsafe or crime ridden – that is furthest from the truth when I visited. What is nice about St. Croix is that it is more authentic and hasn’t been overtaken by tourism like St. Thomas can feel like at times. Only two or…
What you Need to Know about Getting Scuba Diving Certified
Has it ever crossed your mind to enter the deep blue ocean and go down 60ft where there is no direct access to air and your surrounded by water? This TERRIFIED me. Okay, okay you have a regulator in your mouth so you can breathe and you have a mask over your face so you can see, but still it is a dangerous sport where drowning is a real possibility. I just love snorkeling and my boyfriend is scuba certified so for years now he has been trying to convince me to get certified. So should you do it? Test out the waters The first thing you can do if…
One Week in St. John Itinerary
For one week in St. John you should pick a beach or two to do every day from beaches of St. John. On one or two days of the trip I’d pick a day trip or activity to do instead of the beach. A sample itinerary is as follows: Day 1 Get to your Airbnb and spend the day by your pool or a beach that is close to town. Get dinner in town. End your night at Beach Bar and play cornhole in the sand. Drink your night away on Cruzan Rum! Per Jack Sparrow, “Why’s the rum always gone?”. Day 2 Stock up at Dolphin Market for the…
Beaches of St. John
Without further ado here is a guide of my favorite beaches on St. John: Francis Bay – this is my favorite beach on the island! It’s secluded as it is far from Cruz Bay and more difficult to get to. The water is so calm it just laps at your ankles. The best part about the beach is the snorkeling. You will swim with large sea turtles and stingrays! If you go to the far right side there are huge schools of fish to snorkel with. I even saw and octopus! It is the best of both worlds as far as what you can see snorkeling and the secluded vibe…
Travel St. John Guide
This is a complete guide to the logistics of planning a trip to St. John. Find out where to stay, how to get around, and more below. Geography As far as the island goes, 2/3rds is national park and there are two main towns: Coral Bay and Cruz Bay. Cruz Bay is much livelier although I recommend checking out Coral Bay for lunch one day. All the main beaches are on the North side of the island. Believe it or not there is only one round about, one gas station, 2 main roads, and no stoplights on this island. The two main roads are the road along the north side…
10,000 Reasons to Visit St. John, USVI
Every travel experience is different. I think there is a difference between my favorite experiences abroad and my favorite destinations. Europe was by far my favorite experience because it pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to try new and scary things. St. John on the other hand is my favorite place on this earth. Where do I even begin with how much I love this place?! Why travel to St. John You know that imagine in your head of yourself frolicking on a beautiful abandoned beach that looks straight out of Lost? That’s St. John. Crystal clear water. Warm sandy beach. Overhanging palm trees. It is…
