Meet Marissa:
Maris ~ of the sea
Fun fact #1: Marissa in Latin means of the sea. Fun fact #2: Marissa’s favorite place in the world is to be by or in the sea. These facts are what started Sea Pursuit.
Marissa is a native Oregonian which meant 18 years of constant rain! Growing up in Oregon and taking family vacations to the tropics is what started the itch. Travel began as a form of escape. Not to mention her Dad raised her on Jimmy Buffett’s island vibes. She went to college in Arizona where she got her Bachelors in Accounting and Finance with a certificate in International Business. Living in Arizona there was still one thing missing. The sea! She packed her bags again and set off for the beautiful California coast. She now works in Corporate Strategy in Orange County.
Marissa believes that everyone should be free to discover what makes them happy. If you are not happy right now, have a plan to one day reach happiness. While Marissa has stayed near the West Coast, in each instance she moved to a new city with no family or friends! It is scary but opens up a ton of opportunity to make new friends and grow. She enjoys many aspects in life including horseback riding, hiking, running, camping, her adorable golden retrievers Maverick and Goose, football, the SunDevils, and of course travel!
